I’ve been shooting for quite a few years now, but more prodigiously in the last two. I started my photographic escapades in a high school photography class almost ten years ago. *gasp* I’m old! I learned basic exposure technique, composition, and style on a manual pentax K 1000. I developed my film with dark room skills and miss terribly the smell of developer fluid. In college, I shot for our university paper but quickly realized that I am not so much a photo-journalist. I like to take my time. You can’t rush genius. *wink.
Post college, I shot with a canon eos rebel on film, and then with the advent of digital, switched over to the xti a little over a year ago. I haven’t been shooting with my digital slr (single lens reflex) very long, but have quickly fallen in love and become obsessed over anything I can learn or read or overhear regarding photography.
My dream turned goal is to eventually become a portrait photographer and document the “everyday beautiful” in the lives of families, lovers, children, sisters, sons, brothers, daughters, parents, coworkers, and bosom companions everywhere.
I shoot daily and post at flickr. I’d love to talk shop with you, so shoot me an email or drop me a comment with thoughts or questions!
Here’s to good light!
