Hi! I’m Lacy.
I hail from the glorious land of mid-Missouri, but live as a transplant in the suburbs of Detroit. I’m married to a wonderful man who teaches high school social studies-who has flaming locks and freckles galore. He loves politics and his cats. I’m 27 going on 20 as I refuse to be 30. I recently had weight loss surgery and I’m figuring out what healthy is and how to do it daily. I’m more than happy to talk about it because I figure that anything you hide can keep you captive, and I’m all about freedom.
I love coffee, tea, and cozy overstuffed couches. I appreciate a well crafted sentence and all things beautiful. I’m kind of like martha stewart that way. I also adore photography. I make pictures daily with my canon dslr, and I am addicted to flickr; I learn so much there. I love poetry, though don’t read or write it far enough. Music speaks a language I can’t and if you hum a few bars, I’ll join in. My favorite color changes with the wind but for years it was lavender and today it’s orange. My style is eclectic but lately I love things that are touched by a hint of whimsy and light. Pour some soft, sweet, golden sun over it and it’s gorgeous. I like shabby chic, rustic, aged, and muted. Pictures from the sixties and seventies make my day. I’m not very disciplined but I’m growing and learning and trying to be a better version of myself. I am a Christ follower and that is perhaps the most important of all.
This blog is mostly about my thoughts, my days, my failures and my victories and of course… my pursuit to find the “everyday beautiful” in my life and surroundings.
As it’s said, those who seek, find.
